How the translator reads your input
Morse written by hand almost never arrives clean. Word gaps get typed as runs of spaces, a word processor turns hyphens into dashes, and a pasted dot can be a middle dot or a bullet. Rather than reject any of that, the decoder normalises it first. The table is the full set of rules.
