AI Course Outline Generator

An AI course outline generator plans the structure of a course from a topic and a few choices. You enter the subject, describe the learners, pick a format and choose 4, 6, 8 or 10 modules, and a language model writes the outline: a course title, learning outcomes, and each module with its goal, three to five lessons and an exercise or assessment. It ends with an idea for a final project.

The outline is the part of course building that decides everything else. Once the modules and outcomes are fixed, recording videos or writing slides becomes a matter of filling slots. The four formats change the shape of the plan: a self-paced video course, a live cohort, a one-day workshop or a university module each need a different pace and kind of exercise. Describing the learners, for example complete beginners or working accountants, keeps the lessons at the right level.

The model runs on the Toolz server. Your form is sent over HTTPS, the server builds the prompt and runs Gemma 3 1B, a small open model from Google, with Ollama, and the outline streams back as it is written. Nothing is downloaded, so it works in any modern browser, including phones. Your course idea is used to write the reply and then discarded: it is not stored or logged, not used to train any model, and not sent to any third-party AI company.

The limits: a 1B model knows the general shape of most subjects but can get technical details wrong, put lessons in an odd order, or miss something an expert would call essential. It does not know the rules of your accrediting body or a platform's requirements. Treat the outline as a draft that a subject expert, ideally you, checks module by module. It writes the structure, not the lesson content or the videos.

It is free with no signup. The alternatives are a blank syllabus template, an instructional designer, or a general AI chatbot that may keep your course plan.
