What is an AI essay writer?
An AI essay writer produces a first draft of an essay from a topic you give it. You type the question or subject, choose the essay type, the academic level and a target length, and a language model writes a titled draft with an introduction that ends in a thesis, body paragraphs that each make one point, and a conclusion.
The seven essay types change how the draft argues. Argumentative and persuasive essays take a position and defend it. Expository essays explain. Narrative and descriptive essays tell or show. Compare and contrast weighs two things side by side, and cause and effect traces why something happened. Your topic is sent over HTTPS, the server builds the prompt and runs Gemma 3 1B, a small open model from Google, with Ollama, and the essay streams back as it is written. A long essay can take 30 to 60 seconds. Your topic and the draft are used to write the reply and then discarded: they are not stored or logged, not used to train any model, and not sent to any third-party AI company. Treat what it writes as a starting point, and be honest about how you use it. Many schools and universities ban or restrict AI-written work, so check your course and institution policy before you use any of this in an assignment, and do not submit the draft as your own work where that is not allowed. The prompt tells the model not to invent quotations, statistics or sources, and to describe the kind of source you should cite instead, but a 1B model can still make up a fact, a date or a reference. Verify every claim against a real source and cite it yourself. The model does not browse the web and knows nothing recent.
The alternatives are the ones you already know: write from your own outline, work through a draft with a tutor or writing centre, or use a larger commercial AI, which writes more fluently but may keep your text. Used well, this tool is most useful for seeing one way an argument could be structured, then writing your own.
