What is an AI paraphraser?
An AI paraphraser rewrites a passage so it says the same thing in different words. You paste a sentence, a paragraph or a whole email, pick a tone, and a language model produces a new version with fresh vocabulary and a different sentence structure while keeping the meaning, the names and the numbers intact.
People reach for one when the wording is the problem and the idea is not. A reply to a customer sounds colder than intended. A paragraph in a report repeats the phrasing of its source too closely. An explanation written for engineers has to go to a client. The six tones map to those jobs: Professional, Casual, Creative, Academic, Simplified and Formal.
This paraphrasing tool is different from most in one respect: nothing you paste is kept. Your text is sent over HTTPS to the Toolz server, which runs Gemma 3 1B, a small open model from Google, with Ollama, and streams the rewrite back. The text is used to write the reply and then discarded. It is not stored or logged, not used to train any model, and not sent to any third-party AI company, which matters for drafts, contracts and anything under an NDA.
The limits are worth knowing before you rely on it. A 1B model is much smaller than the ones behind commercial AI writers, so it can occasionally drop a detail, soften a claim or add something that was not there, and each run takes up to 8,000 characters. Read the result against the original before you send it. Paraphrasing also does not make copied work your own: if you use someone else's ideas, cite them, whatever the wording.
It is free with no signup. The limit is about 20 rewrites per 10 minutes, plus the site's normal daily usage cap. If you want to check a rewrite for grammar afterwards, the AI grammar checker on Toolz runs on the same server model and keeps nothing either.
