An AI alt text generator writes the alternative text that describes an image to people who cannot see it. With this tool you describe the image yourself, in your own words, and choose where it will appear: Website/blog, E-commerce product, Social media or Educational. The tool returns three versions: a short alt text under 125 characters for screen readers, a detailed description, and an SEO-friendly variant that works in a keyword you give it.

Alt text is what a screen reader announces in place of an image, and what search engines read to understand it. The WCAG guidelines ask for text that conveys the image's purpose, so the output skips filler openings like "image of" or "picture of", which a screen reader already implies. The context setting changes emphasis: a product photo needs colour and material, a classroom diagram needs what it teaches.

There is no upload and no vision model. The tool does not look at your picture. It turns your description into well-formed alt text, which is often the harder part: most people know what is in their image but not how to phrase it in 125 characters without filler. Your description is sent over HTTPS to the Toolz server, which runs Gemma 3 1B, a small open model from Google, with Ollama and streams the three versions back. The text is used to write the reply and then discarded. It is not stored or logged, not used for training, and not sent to any third-party AI company.

Know the limits. The model can only work with what you tell it, so a vague description gives vague alt text, and it may add a detail you did not mention. It can also miscount, so check that the short version is under 125 characters. Read each alt text against the image and add the context only you know, such as a product name.

It is free with no signup, within about 20 generations per 10 minutes. You could write alt text by hand, which is best for a few important images. This tool is useful for drafts across many images when you want consistent, screen-reader-friendly wording.
