AI Grammar Checker

An AI grammar checker reads your text and reports the grammar, spelling and punctuation mistakes in it, with a correction for each. This one gives you two things: a list under "Corrections" showing the original, the fix and a one-line reason, and then the full corrected text so you can copy it in one go.

The reasons are the useful part. Take the sample on the page: "Their going to announce the results tomorow, but me and my team has already started preparing." A rule-based checker flags words; a language model can say why "their" should be "they're", why "me and my team has" becomes "my team and I have", and that "Its important" needs an apostrophe. You pick the English variant, American, British, Australian or Canadian, so "colour" and "organise" are not marked wrong when you write for a UK reader.

It is told not to change your meaning or style beyond fixing errors, which is the difference between proofreading and rewriting. If you want the wording changed, use the paraphraser instead. The check runs on the Toolz server: your text is sent over HTTPS, the server runs Gemma 3 1B, a small open model from Google, with Ollama, and the corrections stream back. Your text is used to write the reply and then discarded. It is not stored or logged, not used to train any model, and not sent to any third-party AI company.

The limits matter for anything important. A 1B model can miss an error, flag something that was correct, or explain a rule loosely, especially with comma placement and subject-verb agreement across long sentences. It checks up to 8,000 characters per run, roughly 1,200 to 1,400 words. For a contract, a thesis or a job application, read the corrections rather than accepting the corrected copy blindly.

It is free with no signup, within about 20 checks per 10 minutes. The alternatives are the checker built into your word processor, a paid proofreading service or a human editor, and a careful read-aloud, which still catches problems no tool does.
