Carousel Scroll Generator

Split a panorama into Instagram carousel slides that line up edge to edge, so swiping through the post scrolls the picture with no seam

A seamless carousel is an Instagram post whose slides are consecutive pieces of one wide image, so swiping through it scrolls across the picture rather than stepping between separate photographs. It is one of the few native formats on the platform that rewards a landscape composition: a panorama that would be cut to a stripe in a single feed post gets the full height of three or four slides instead, and the swipe itself becomes part of how the image is read.

Getting it right is a matter of arithmetic rather than design. Each slide has to be exactly the same width, cut on a whole-pixel boundary, and share its edge precisely with the next - a single pixel of drift shows up as a visible jump halfway through the swipe, and a final slide narrower than the others makes the sequence end abruptly. This tool crops the source to exactly the strip the slides need, divides that strip into equal columns, and spreads any leftover pixels one at a time across the leading slides rather than dumping the remainder on the last one.

It also picks the slide count for you. How many slides a panorama wants depends on its aspect ratio and on the shape of slide you choose - a 3:1 panorama is three square slides but four portrait ones, because portrait slides are narrower. The tool suggests the count that matches your image most closely, and stops adjusting once you set it yourself. Slides download individually or as a numbered zip, and everything runs on a canvas in your browser, so the image is never uploaded.

  1. Add a wide image

Drop, browse or paste a panorama - anything wider than a single slide. The wider it is, the more slides it will carry without cropping hard.

  2. Choose the slide shape

Portrait 4:5 takes the most screen on a phone and is the usual choice. Square and landscape are there when the composition suits them.

  3. Set the number of slides

The tool suggests the count that best matches your image. Fewer slides keep more of the height; more slides cover more width.

  4. Download and post in order

Take the zip for all of them, numbered in swipe order, or grab individual slides. Upload them left to right as a single carousel post.

Key Features

  • Genuinely Seamless Cuts

Slices land on whole-pixel boundaries and share edges exactly, so there is no drift or double-counted column mid-swipe

  • No Odd Slide Out

Leftover pixels are spread one at a time across the leading slides instead of widening the last one, which is what makes a sequence end with a jump

  • Suggests the Slide Count

Works out how many slides your panorama wants for the shape you chose, and stops adjusting once you override it

  • Numbered Zip Download

All slides in one archive, zero-padded so they sort in swipe order in every file manager

Frequently Asked Questions

Upload a wide image, choose the slide shape and how many slides you want, then download the pieces and post them in order as a single carousel. Each slide must be the same size and share its edge exactly with the next, which is what makes the swipe read as one continuous picture rather than a set of related ones.
