Posterize PDF

Posterize PDF is a free tool, no signup, that splits PDF pages into a grid of smaller pages for poster-size printing on a standard printer. Each page of your PDF is divided into tiles that can be printed on regular paper and assembled into a large poster.

This is the practical option when you need to print large diagrams, architectural plans, posters, banners, or any oversized content but only have access to a standard letter or A4 printer. Choose a 2x2, 3x3 or 4x4 grid and the tool splits each page accordingly.

To print a PDF as a poster on multiple pages, start from the page size. Upload a single A4 page, choose 3x3 (9 pages) with Overlap for printing at 0 mm, and the Output Summary shows 9 output pages. Each tile in the download is a 70 x 99 mm page, one ninth of the original, so print every sheet at 300% on A4 and the nine sheets assemble into a poster of about 63 x 89 cm. On a 2x2 grid the same page gives 105 x 148 mm tiles to print at 200%, for an A2-sized poster.

All processing happens client-side with no server uploads. Upload your PDF, select the grid, and download the posterized result. Print each tile page, trim if needed, and assemble them to create your full-size poster.

Posterising splits one page across a grid of ordinary sheets so a standard printer can produce something bigger than it can print. The practical ceiling is your patience with assembly rather than any limit in the tool: a 4x4 grid of A4 sheets makes a poster of roughly 84 by 119 centimetres, and beyond that the seams start to dominate. The tiles are a fraction of your original page, not a sheet of paper, so decide on one print scale and use it for every sheet; mixed scaling is what usually causes tiles that will not line up. Content is scaled as vector data where the source is vector, so text and line art stay crisp at size; a low-resolution photograph enlarged this far will look exactly as coarse as its pixel count suggests. Check the source image resolution before committing a large grid to paper.
