What is Alternate Mix Pages?

Alternate Mix Pages is a free online tool that merges two PDF documents by interleaving their pages. Instead of simply appending one PDF after the other, this tool alternates pages from each document: page 1 from PDF A, then page 1 from PDF B, then page 2 from PDF A, and so on.
This is especially useful when you have scanned the front and back sides of a document separately and need to combine them into the correct reading order. It is also helpful for merging two related documents where content should alternate, such as question-and-answer sheets or bilingual documents.
All PDF processing happens entirely in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to any server. Simply upload two PDF files, choose the interleaving pattern, and download the combined result with pages perfectly alternated.
This exists mainly for one job: a document scanned on a sheet-fed scanner that only reads one side, giving you fronts in one file and backs in another. Interleaving puts them back into reading order. The backs usually come out reversed, because the stack is flipped and fed again, so check whether your second file needs reversing before you mix. Unequal page counts are handled by appending whatever is left over once the shorter file runs out, rather than failing, which is what you want when the last sheet had a blank back. Pages are copied unchanged, so quality and orientation carry over exactly. Bookmarks from either source are dropped. If either file will not load, it is likely password-protected and needs unlocking first.
