The Tip Calculator works out how much to tip and what everyone owes when a check is split. Enter the bill, choose a tip percentage — either a one-tap preset like 15%, 18%, or 20% or your own number — and the tool returns the tip amount, the grand total, and, when more than one person is paying, the exact per-person share. It removes the mental arithmetic and the "is that too much or too little?" second-guessing at the end of a meal.
It also handles the parts of a real check that trip people up. You can add a sales tax percentage and decide whether the tip is calculated on the pre-tax subtotal — the standard etiquette in the United States — or on the taxed total. And because splitting a bill rarely divides evenly, an optional round-up step bumps either the grand total or each person's share up to the next whole dollar, showing you exactly how much extra that adds and what the tip percentage effectively becomes.
