An AI code generator writes source code from a plain-language description of what it should do. You choose a language, describe the task, and a language model replies with code in a fenced block, followed by a short explanation of how it works and a usage example. It suits small, well-defined pieces of code: a function, a query, a regular expression wrapped in a helper, a shell script, a class with a few methods. The sample on the page asks for a Python function that returns the median of a list and handles empty and even-length lists, and the prompt tells the model to handle edge cases like those. The more precisely you state inputs, outputs and edge cases, the better the result, much as with a human colleague.

The model runs on the Toolz server. Your description is sent over HTTPS, the server builds the prompt and runs Gemma 3 1B, a small open model from Google, with Ollama, and the code streams back as it is written. Your task description, which may include internal names or schema details, is used to write the reply and then discarded: it is not stored or logged, not used to train any model, and not sent to any third-party AI company. It needs an internet connection, but nothing is downloaded, so it works in any modern browser.

Be realistic about quality. A 1B model is far smaller than the ones behind commercial coding assistants. It can call a library function that does not exist, use an outdated API, or produce code that looks right and fails on an edge case. It does not run or test the code, and it cannot see your project. Read every line, run it, and write a test before it goes anywhere near production. Never paste secrets such as API keys into any code tool as a habit, this one included.

It is free with no signup, within about 20 generations per 10 minutes, and a long answer can take 30 to 60 seconds to finish. The alternatives are writing it yourself with the official documentation open, searching for an existing library, or using a commercial coding assistant that reads your codebase.
