AI Headline Analyzer

Score a headline out of 100 for a blog, email, YouTube video, news story, landing page or social post, see its strengths and weaknesses, and get five better versions.

What is an AI headline analyzer?

An AI headline analyzer reviews a single headline and explains how well it is likely to work where it will be shown. You type the headline, choose the channel, blog post, email subject, YouTube video, news article, landing page or social post, and a language model returns eight things: a score out of 100 with its reasoning, the emotional impact, the power words used, the word and character count and whether they suit that channel, the headline type (how-to, list, question, statement), strengths, weaknesses, and five improved alternatives.

The channel matters because the same words behave differently in each place. An email subject gets cut off on a phone well before a blog title does, and a YouTube title competes with a thumbnail. Try the sample, "How to Save Money": it is clear but generic, and a useful report will say so, then offer versions with a specific number, a reader, or an outcome, such as saving a set amount a month on groceries.

The score is the model's judgement, not a measurement. There is no click-through data behind it, and the tool has no web access, so it cannot see what is ranking or trending right now. Use it to sharpen a draft and generate options, then let real results decide: an A/B test on email subjects or a comparison of click rates in Search Console tells you more than any score. A 1B model also miscounts words and characters, so check the length yourself when a limit is strict.

The analysis runs on the Toolz server. Your headline is sent over HTTPS, the server builds the prompt and runs Gemma 3 1B, a small open model from Google, with Ollama, and the report streams back within a few seconds. Unpublished headlines are used to write the report and then discarded: they are not stored or logged, not used to train any model, and not sent to any third-party AI company.

It is free with no signup, within about 20 analyses per 10 minutes. For a headline you need to create rather than check, the YouTube title generator and email subject line generator start from a topic instead.

How to analyze a headline

  1. Type your headline

Enter one headline exactly as it will appear, including numbers and punctuation.

  2. Choose where it will appear

Blog post, Email subject, YouTube video, News article, Landing page or Social post. The length advice depends on this.

  3. Press Analyze headline

The score streams in first, then the rest of the report, usually within a few seconds.

  4. Pick or combine an alternative

Read the weaknesses, choose from the five improved versions or blend them, and run your favourite back through to compare. Copy or download the report.

What the headline analyzer checks

  • A score with reasons

A score out of 100 and the reasoning behind it, so you can see what pulled it up or down.

  • Six channels

Blog post, email subject, YouTube video, news article, landing page and social post, each judged by what suits that placement.

  • Power words and headline type

Lists the emotional and power words in use and classifies the headline as how-to, list, question or statement.

  • Five rewrites

Every report ends with five improved alternatives, and Redo gives a fresh set.
