AI Cover Letter Generator

An AI cover letter generator writes a letter that introduces you to an employer for one specific role. You give it the job title, the company, a summary of your relevant experience, and optionally the job description. It returns a letter under 350 words that opens with why this role and this company, connects two or three of your experiences to what the job needs, and closes with a clear next step.

The point is to stop sending the same generic letter to every opening. A recruiter reads a cover letter to see whether you understood the job, so the letter has to name the role and answer the ad. Four tones cover most situations: Professional, Enthusiastic, Confident and Warm. A graduate applying for a first job and a senior hire moving sideways want different voices.

The model runs on the Toolz server. Your form is sent over HTTPS, the server builds the prompt and runs Gemma 3 1B, a small open model from Google, with Ollama, and the letter streams back as it is written. Your background, the company name and the job ad are used to write the reply and then discarded: they are not stored or logged, not used to train any model, and not sent to any third-party AI company.

It has limits. The model is small and knows nothing about the company beyond what you type, so it cannot research their mission or recent news for you. It is told to use only facts from your background and to leave [placeholders] for anything missing, but read it closely: a 1B model can overstate a skill or invent a detail. Each field takes up to 8,000 characters and the whole form up to 10,000.

It is free, with no signup, within about 20 letters per 10 minutes. You could write the letter from scratch, adapt a template, or use a general chatbot.
