What is a HEIC to PDF converter?
A HEIC to PDF converter turns HEIC or HEIF photos, the format an iPhone saves by default, into the pages of a PDF document. The usual reason is a request for "a PDF": a landlord wants the photographed lease, an insurer wants the receipts, a school portal wants the signed form. The phone gave you four .heic files, many Windows programs and upload forms will not open them, and the person on the other end wants one document they can open anywhere.
This page makes that document in one pass. Add the photos and every photo becomes a page of a single PDF in the order you added them, built as soon as they are added. One photo saves as <name>.pdf; a batch saves as images.pdf. Tick One PDF per image and each photo gets its own PDF instead, with Download All saving the set as a ZIP.
Page size decides how the photos sit. Fit to image makes each page exactly the size of its photo, one pixel to one PDF point, which is good for viewing on screen but means a 4032x3024 iPhone photo becomes a page about 56 by 42 inches. For anything that will be printed or read as a document, pick A4 or US Letter: the photo is scaled to fill the page, centered, and the page turns to landscape for a landscape photo. The Small margin adds a quarter inch of white space on every side.
HEIC is decoded by libheif, compiled to WebAssembly and run in a background worker, and it is downloaded the first time you add a HEIC file on this page. Each photo is then embedded as JPEG at 92% quality, at its full resolution, which keeps the PDF a sensible size with little visible loss. A HEIC with transparent pixels is embedded as PNG so the transparency is not flattened. When a file holds several images, such as a burst, the primary image is used, and when that file is converted on its own the note under the result says how many images it held.
The conversion is client-side, so the photos never leave your device. Because the PDF is built from decoded pixels, the GPS location, camera model and other metadata in the HEIC are not copied into it. HEIC files over 100 MB and photos over 100 megapixels are refused with a message rather than crashing the tab. The tool is free, no signup, with a daily cap on conversions.
How to convert HEIC to PDF
Add your HEIC photos
Drop HEIC or HEIF files onto the box, or click to upload. The HEIC decoder downloads with the first file, then each photo is decoded and added as a page straight away. A JPG or PNG dropped here is turned away with a link to the converter for that format.
Choose page size and margin
Pick A4 or US Letter for a document you will print or send, or Fit to image to keep each page the size of its photo. Set Margin to Small for a quarter inch border. Tick One PDF per image if each photo should be its own file. The PDF is rebuilt each time you change one of these.
Check the pages
Each photo is a row labeled Page 1, Page 2 and so on; use the up and down buttons on a row to move it one place earlier or later. A photo that cannot be read shows its error on its row and is left out, and the rest still go into the PDF.
Download the PDF
The PDF row at the top shows the page count and the file size. Press Download PDF in the list header to save it, or Download All when you made one PDF per photo. With a single photo, use the download icon on its row.
Why convert HEIC to PDF?
HEIC is a good format for a phone camera and a poor one for sending to other people. Converting to PDF fixes three problems at once.
The other side asked for a PDF
Upload forms for claims, rentals, visas and expense reports often accept PDF and a short list of image types, and HEIC is rarely on that list. A PDF gets past the form, and it opens in current browsers and on almost any computer without a codec to install.
Several photos of one document
A three-page contract photographed on a phone is three HEIC files that can arrive out of order or get separated. Put in one PDF, the pages stay together and in sequence. If the order comes out wrong, move the photos up or down in the file list before you download, or use the organize PDF tool to rearrange a PDF you already saved.
Windows and older software cannot open HEIC
Opening HEIC on Windows often depends on an extra codec, and many office programs and older photo editors do not read it at all. A PDF sidesteps that for documents. If the person needs editable pictures instead, convert HEIC to JPG and send the images.

Page size, print size and photo resolution
A PDF page is measured in points, 72 to the inch. Fit to image gives each pixel one point, so an iPhone photo of 4032x3024 pixels becomes a page 56 inches wide. A viewer shows that page zoomed out, so it looks fine on screen, but a print dialog has to shrink it to fit the paper.
A4 and US Letter solve that without throwing away detail. The photo is embedded at its full pixel size and only drawn smaller, so a 3024x4032 portrait photo across a US Letter page lands at roughly 355 pixels per inch, more than most printers need. Small photos, such as a cropped screenshot, are scaled up to fill the page and will look soft when printed.
Each page follows its photo: a landscape photo gets a landscape page, a portrait photo a portrait one, so a mixed batch can alternate. If you need every page the same way round, rotate the pages afterwards with the rotate PDF tool.
Privacy and security
- HEIC decoding and PDF building both run client-side, in a worker and in this tab. The photos are never uploaded.
- GPS coordinates, camera details and capture times stored in the HEIC are not written into the PDF.
- The HEIC decoder and the PDF library load from this site only when you add the first photo, and neither sends anything back.
- The daily limit check sends the tool name, a device identifier and your sign-in token if you have one. It contains no image data.
- After a batch, the page logs how many files converted, their total size in bytes and the output format. File names and pixels are not sent.
- The finished PDF stays in the tab's memory until you remove the photos, press Clear All or close the page.
