PSD to PNG Converter

A PSD to PNG converter turns a Photoshop document into a single flat PNG image that opens anywhere. A PSD is a working file: layers, masks, adjustment layers, text, smart objects and effects, stacked in a format that only Photoshop and a handful of other editors can open. That is fine for the designer and a dead end for everyone else. A client reviewing a mockup, a developer who needs a screen as an image, or you on a laptop without Photoshop installed all hit the same wall.

This page does not rebuild the layers. Photoshop can store a flattened copy of the whole document inside the PSD, next to the layers, and this converter reads that copy using ag-psd, an open source PSD reader, and writes it to a PNG at the full document size. Because the flattened copy is Photoshop's own render, everything that was visible at the moment of saving is in it: text in its real font, layer styles, adjustment layers and smart objects. Hidden layers are not. Transparent areas stay transparent, and documents with 16 or 32 bits per channel are brought down to 8.

The catch is that Photoshop usually writes that flattened copy only when Maximize PSD and PSB File Compatibility is on. When it is off, the PSD normally has no usable composite image. This page checks for that and tells you how to fix it instead of saving a blank or broken PNG. Files saved by other apps may or may not include a composite, depending on the app.

The work is client-side. The PSD reader is downloaded when you add the first PSD, then your browser reads the file, draws the composite and saves the PNG, so unreleased artwork never leaves your device. Layer pixels are not decoded at all, which keeps large documents manageable. EXIF data and color profiles are not copied over. PSD files over 500 MB and documents over 100 megapixels are refused with a message. Batches download one by one or as a ZIP, free, no signup, with a daily cap on conversions.

• The PSD is read and the PNG is written inside this browser tab. The PSD reader script is downloaded once, and your artwork is never uploaded.
• Layer pixel data is skipped entirely; only the flattened composite is decoded.
• The daily limit check sends the tool name and a device identifier, plus your account token if you are signed in. It includes nothing from the file.
• After a batch, the page records only how many files converted, their total bytes and the output format. File names, layer names and pixels are never sent.
• If the limit check cannot reach the server, the conversion still goes ahead.
• Converted PNGs stay in the tab's memory until you remove them, press Clear All or close the page.
