CSV to XML Converter

A CSV to XML converter turns tabular data stored as comma-separated values into a structured XML document. CSV is a flat format where each line is a record and each value is separated by a delimiter, which is compact but carries no nesting and no type information. XML wraps every value in a named tag, so the same data gains an explicit structure that validators, XSLT transforms, and older enterprise systems can read directly. The converter follows the RFC 4180 quoting rules, so a value that itself contains a comma, a quotation mark, or a line break is parsed correctly when it is wrapped in double quotes rather than being split across fields. It auto-detects whether your file is separated by commas, semicolons, tabs, or pipes by checking which delimiter gives a consistent column count, and you can override that choice. Column names are coerced into valid XML element names, because XML names cannot contain spaces or begin with a digit, and the markup-significant characters are escaped (&, < and > in text, plus the double quote inside attributes) so the output is always well-formed. You can choose whether each cell becomes a child element or an attribute on the row; the wrapper is always <rows> and each record is always <row>.
